Festive Cooking Marquee Saturday 5th December
Perth Farmers' Market is holding a special marquee event in St John's Place on Saturday 5th December from 9am until 2pm. Local chefs will be cooking up a selection of festive dishes using produce available to buy at the market.
Tony Heath from The Apron Stage in Stanley, will compere a "Ready Steady Cook" styled event with the chefs being ably assisted by pupils from Perth High School. You'll get lots of recipe ideas, tips and tasters and it should certainly be lots of fun!
Our usual market stalls will be there as well so come along and stock up the larder with goodies for Christmas. Turkey, duck, beef and venison will all be available along with an assortment of succulent winter vegetables. Pick up a bottle of double award winning Summer Harvest Rapeseed Oil: it makes the most delicious roast potatoes!
A great selection of fruit wines will be on offer to make the party go with a swing, a wonderful array of Scottish cheeses, oatcakes, chutneys and relishes and not forgetting delicious homemade mince pies and Christmas cakes.
Mouthwatering buffalo and lamb burgers will be available to buy throughout the day as well as delicious spit roast wild boar rolls with apple sauce.
There will be carol singers to entertain you and a competition to enter for the chance to win a Perth Farmers' Market hamper worth around £175. It really will be a great day out for all the family.
